Lets end this right now.

I'm pissed off with some bloggers saying things like "it's the same bloggers every year!" It isn't. If you took part every year you'd know. Yes there are some names that are the same but not ALL of them as many people in other blogs like to try and suggest.

As I like to try and keeps this as fair and as honest as I can I actually keep records so here are some facts for you.

Of all the people nominated this year less than 40% were nominated last year. This means that over 60% were NOT nominated... so there are 60%'s worth of new names. 10 of the nominees can't possibly of been in last years as they are in the best newcomer category which means they came here from January onwards.

Of all the people nominated this year less than 20% have been nominated every year!

So why are those 20% nominated year in year out? Maybe it's because they are damn popular - and rightly so! They've kept us entertained and helped us when we needed it and now some ignorant inbreeds are going to start saying they aren't worth it all because of the bitterness they feel at not being nominated.

This is not my problem. This is the same people who used to complain about the Top 20 not being fair because the same people were always in it! So what? If they deserved to be there then so be it!

What people don't know is how close they come to being in the top five but would you really want me to say who got what and how many votes each person got? If you're feeling low now because you're not in the top five how would feel if you found out that only one person nominated you.. and that happened to be your own nomination? Trust me, that rarely happens, but what if?

Thankfully, the people who complain are very much in the minority as the majority know that the Bloscars is a bit of fun. Andy kindly does my graphics every year and I thank him. The fact that I say thank you is enough for him, he asks for nothing in return. Lyndz does the reviews of the nominees and again, she gets my thanks and asks for nothing. I thank them because it's polite to do so. If they don't win anything this year I can guarantee that next year Andy will still do my graphics and Lyndz will still do the reviews. If Andy doesn't win Most Helpful he'll still help you when you need it. If Lyndz doesn't win best story she'll still write one and/or run the writing competition. This is because they, and most others like them, take the Bloscars as it should be taken. A bit of fun.

Next year I'm changing things to prove it's all a bit of fun. Yes, next year! While the majority wants them I'm not going to stop doing the Bloscars as I get a lot of fun out of it.

Oh, and for those of you who take the Bloscars far too seriously and think competition is unhealthy... wait and see what I've got planned for the summer!
