The Moira Smith Forget-Me-Not Award is given to the person the blogging public see as the most deserving. It replaced the Lifetime Achievement award in the 2006 Bloscars which was won by LyndLJ and last year Moira herself won the award in what, I think, was the right decision by you the bloggers.

This year your choice is just as deserving as LyndLJ and Moira and I agree whole-heartedly with that choice.

But what do you, the blogger, think about her? Lets see...

Five fabulous facts, dear bloggers!

1. This funky Canuck is an international jet-setter. She rocked the blogging world with her epic tour of the British Isles in 2007, and continues to entertain and unite bloggers worldwide – from tequila-lashed trips to Mexico to the impending blogmeet in Berlin, this gal knows how to do it with style!
2. Speaking of tequila, she is also partial to a wee-dram – which will be handy for when she achieves her goal of piratehood…
3. The presence of her lovely hubby in her writing is joy to read and gives us hope!
4. A generous and kind soul, she guides and supports and helps us all, earning her the much-deserved reputation and title of…
5. A dear and kind friend to those in need, to those who know her, and to those lucky enough to have met her.

Here’s to many more happy blogmeets, our friend in the North!

How do you sum up MenoMama in a few short words? With difficulty, let me tell you. But a few bold adjectives come leaping out nonetheless. Impulsive: By any standard, taking a leap of faith so far it involves a transatlantic flight and a sleep-deprived week-long whistle-stop tour of Britain (and soon Europe, too) to meet, greet, hug and hold people you're taking entirely on trust really is quite, quite remarkable - and a truly tremendous compliment to those that were lucky to meet her. Compulsive: A pleasingly upbeat companion who leaves a wake of inspired people in her whirlwind vapour trail, equally gasping for breath while begging for more. Tactile: A hug from a stranger can be, frankly, weird. Kelly's aren't. They're like the complete opposite of the lingering, unwanted touch from a faintly lecherous relative. Inside a Kelly hug, there's genuine warmth, genuine welcome, and not a little peace. Empathetic: Coming at you in spades and borne from experience, often having been learned the hard way yet dispensed with gentle wisdom. Compassionate: As much towards her beloved menagerie as to her family and her friends. And, finally: Endeavour. Because really, who else amongst us could maintain so many different blogs, while attending to so many of those of other people, while operating in a vastly different time zone, staying sane and sweet and wise all along the way?

This woman is BCUK. Although she lives pretty far from the UK, the fact that she is the greatest blogmeet arranger and attender that the interwebnet has ever seen is testament to her dedication, loyalty and fundamental bloggity wonderfulness. And watch her put away those vats of fermented grape!

I, for one, am constantly amazed by her ability to make people feel accepted and welcome into our BCUK community, as well as her endlessly entertaining tales about life with those crazy dawgs in snowy Cananda.

Kelly, thanks for everything. This place simply would not be the same without you.

Do you want to read a good blog? Well Walkdontrun is the blogger to get in touch with more blogs than you can shake a stick at. There is bound to be something for everyone in them, which means she is a busy blogger too but never too busy to read a blog and leave a little comment behind. Warm but with a sneaky little cheeky side as you can tell from her comments and tags and by the fellow bloggers who read her blogs. Caring and organising expert with blog meets galore in her hands this is one reliable blogger. She is fair but firm and she isn’t one to mince words Walkdontrun is a deep blogger often lost in thought and this you can tell from her own blog avatar. A popular blogger and if you aren’t part of her friendship group then you should be asking yourself why. Read her blogs, become entranced, be her friend.

If the Bloscars are all about celebrating the community of blog.co.uk, it's no wonder that this lady was nominated, as she is at the very heart of it. Her enthusiasm for the world of blogging and her affection for each and every one of her "bloggity mates" is consistent and heartfelt; a fact which was proved beyond any shadow of a doubt when she took it upon herself to fly halfway around the world to organise a series of blog-meets in November last year. Humourous and caring, full of useful advice and wine and complete bloody bonkeredness, she truly is one of the stars of blog.co.uk.

So hugs and kisses right back at ya, Ms RunDontWalk - aka, our Meno.

What can you say about a lady who single handedly changed the face of blogmeets forever by creating the first international blogmeet? Shes infectiously enthusiastic, uncontrollably funny and endlessly caring.

I have to admit I wasn't sure to begin with when this outrageously manic (in a good way) Canadian entered our lives, suddenly popping up in our little UK world from the land of Hockey and the Arrogant Worms but I'll tell you summat, blogworld wouldn't be the same without her support, her humour and her love.

She's a special lady with a lot to give, and give she does, both online, and in her full fluffy-assed flying meeter mode :

I'm as proud of being her friend as she's proud of being Canadian... cue song... ;)

Yes bloggers, your winners is... (if you hadn't already worked it out)

P.S. I apologise to lying to those of you on a secret mission... you all had the same person... apart from you Meno. x
