I've finally finished going through all the Bloscars stuff... the forms that have arrived so far by the way (deadline isn't done, you still have time) and on the last one I suddenly notice a message to me underneath the main form.

I hope you don't mind that I haven't voted for you. I know you're organising it and everything and I'm sure it takes a lot of work but I don't really know you and have only been reading either of your blogs because of the bloscars, and even then someone else pointed them out to me! Sorry and all that but I'm sure you'll understand.

Yes, I do understand and no I'm not bothered in the slightest. Last year I took my self out of the running for fear of reprisals the like of which were seen during the first ever Bloscars but this year I bowed to peer pressure or rather, I listened to what my friends had to say, and I left my name in. I'm not bothered at all that you didn't vote for me, or that so many other forms have come in with my name missing from them. The idea of the Bloscars is not to see how popular I am... I already know that... as does Juzzzy... it's to award the bloggers of this blogging community.

Now, thanks to everyone who has sent a form in. It's people like you who make all this worth while. It doesn't take much time or effort at all to sort all this out and organise it but it takes a lot of effort to choose just three people from a myriad of excellent blogs and friends, so I admire everyone who has sent a form in, I know how hard it must have been, which is probably why I've yet to vote! Ha!

A huge thank you as well to the BCUK team for offering the prize again. Thank you.

Well it's one complete day left I suppose.

Nominations close on Thursday at 23:59:59 to be prescise.

The finalists will be announced on Monday.

There is one award in which there is a clear winner. There are approximately twenty nominees for this award (I'm not saying which award it is) and all of them, except one, have only one nomination each. "The exception" (as they will now be called) has all the other votes.

This means there is no top five for this one award.

Now, I know nominations aren't closed so it might end up that it doesn't matter but judging by how things are at the moment it's doubtful.

So what I propose is this:

I'm going to take this category out of the main voting and name the exception the winner. I'll not be naming the winner until the awards night, but I'll also not be opening the award up for the public vote. When voting starts I'm sure you'll be able to work out which award it is as it'll be the only one missing but the winner will remain a secret until Awards Night.

Do you agree? If you disagree then please say so in comments here. You must give me a good enough reason as to why I should not just let the exception win and you have to tell me how to choose the other four nominees.

So gentle viewer I leave the decision in your hands.

Okay, I'm bowing to pressure here so for one and only time during this years Bloscars™ here is a list of all those people who have been nominated so far. Now, when I say so far what I mean is that I still haven't finished going through all the forms I've had in! If your name isn't here that doesn't mean you haven't been nominated, it might mean I haven't got to it on the nominations yet! If you name is here that doesn't mean you'll be up for an award. For that to happen you have to be in the top five for that category.

If your name is there and what you want to know what you've been nominated for well I'm afraid that's tough because I'm not telling. Unless of course you have some substantial to offer me by way of a bribe. (Juzzzy Jake Andy CJ Maddogs Ryan all blog men, I'm thinking 30 minutes alone should cover it! - Ladies you'll have to use your imagination!)

Isn't it strange, I already have plans for the 2009 Bloscars yet the 2008 ones aren't over yet! The awards ceremony will be an evening affair again but I'll tell you more about that nearer the time.

The votes are still flying in... but there are still some I'm missing. You know who you are!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but the internet is still no existent at the house, which is why I'm sat outside an estate agents.

Thank god for laptops... and estate agents.

So, shall we talk prizes?

Well the winners this year will get a lovely A4 certificate to frame and look at daily. Winners also get a beautiful key ring showing the award you won and your profile picture. The profile picture used will be the one shown during February so if you don't like it and you're up for an award then at some point during February you need to tell me you don't like it and let me know which one to use if you win. Thanks to the "People Upstairs" winners will also get a free pro account for one year. Enough to last until the Bloscars 2009 when you win another one... keep it and you'll never have to pay for a Pro Account!

There may be a few other prizes but until I get letters back and I can't promise anything. I've sent various letters to various companies asking them to sponsor the Bloscars but no one has replied yet. It could be because I've also asked for them to donate prizes!

I'm amazed at the blogs and bloggers that are getting nominations. I don't know if it's because I've been away for so long but it feels like I hardly know anyone that's up. That's also a really good thing because it should prove to some people that it's open to more than just my friends list. In fact, I've only made two friends so far and both of those are because we thought it might be that people could only get hold of the nominations form if they were in my friends list. That wasn't the case but I've got two more blogs that I enjoy reading so it can't be a bad thing.

So, keep the forms coming in. Don't worry, you don't have to put someone in EVERY space, you can leave blanks and you don't have to be on my friends list to take part! As Andy and Lynda have both said, it's all a big bit of fun so lets keep it like that.
