Having realised that I may not be able to blog on January 1st I have decided to open up the Bloscars a few days early.

2008: A Blog Odyssey

You now have until January 31st 2008 (23:59:59 to be precise) to get in your nominations. Remember you can nominate three people per award and these are not the final winners this is just to determine the five finalists who will be announced on February 1st.

To nominate you can download any of the forms below them email that form to me at bloscars(a)gmail.com. Or you can email me there and request a form and I'll send one back in a reply but it may take a while - remember my internet access isn't fantastic!

Both of them are Excel files, one compatible with Excel 97, so download it, fill it in and email it back. Remember you can nominate THREE people per award apart from Moira's award. you can only nominate ONE person. If you fill in the space three times I'll ignore the second and third.

Talking of Moira's award, I've merged this with the Inspirational Award. Another thing to note with these awards is that you cannot nominate someone who has won it in the last ten years which means you cannot nominate LyndLJ or Moira for this award. As deserving as they were and still are I'm sure you can find someone to fit the award.

As before there will be prizes. At the moment they stand at a Pro Account (or free year if you're already a pro), a key ring and a certificate.

Best Profile Picture
Nearly everyone has a profile picture. Who has the best? Is it the best because it's actually them and is a good quality picture or is a good picture because it's interesting and different?

Funniest Blog/Blogger
Who makes you laugh? Which blog has you really LOLing?

Best Photographic Blog
There are quiet a few good photographic blogs out there so which ones have you looking? Don't think it has to be a photograph only blog, it can be a personal blog as well but maybe the person is a photographer and blogs the occasional picture.

Most Artistic Blog
Who has the most artisitic blog? This is different to the above award. It encompasses everything.

Best Blog Design
Who has the best blog design?

Best Video Blogger
Which blogger/blog posts the best You Tube or Google Video clips?

Best Blog Commenter
Who leaves the best comments? Either inspirational or funny?

Best News Blog
Which blog has the best news stories or keeps a debate going?

Best Story Blog
Which blog tells the best story?

Best Off-Site Blog/Website
To qualify for this award the blog or web site must be connected to a blogger or blog. For example Dean Christopher and I have sites that hold photo's, many members use Flickr, Paul Boyd has his productions web site and his personal blog. As long as there is a link back to blog then they are eligible.

Most Helpful Blog/Blogger
Which blogger helps you the most? Which blog gives you help?

Best Male Newcomer
To be eligible for this award the male blogger must have joined at some point after February 1st 2007. Check their profile to see when they joined.

Best Female Newcomer
To be eligible for the award the female blogger must have joined at some point after February 1st 2007. Check their profile to see when they joined.
