Okay people, it’s the moment some of you have been waiting for…

I give you … the Bloscars finalists!

Now before we announce them I need to tell you about a few changes to some award.

Best Discussion/Debate Blog - Although there were many nominations for this award there were only three clear leaders. To put anyone else up would mean adding a nomination here or there and that’s not right.

Best News Blog - As above there were a few nominations but only two who stood out. All the others were equal and there was a lot more than just the five so this way it’s fairer… I feel… and my word is final! Haha!

Best Female and Best Male Blogger - When I looked at all the nominations for both these awards it turned out that there were 4 people in the top all with the same amount of nominations and 3 in second place in the female section and, believe it or not, 3 in the top place for the male and 4 in the second. I could have cut it down to four but I thought with it being one of the final awards I’d add them to it rather than take away. So for both these awards you have seven people to choose from.

In essence… Best Discussion/Debate Blog = 3 nominees, Best News Blog = 2 nominees, Best Female = 7 nominees and Best Male = 7 nominees.

If you look at the nominations and find your name not there then do not be upset or despondent. It doesn’t mean you didn’t get nominated. There were literally hundreds, and I do mean hundreds of nominees coming in hundreds of emails and I didn’t get chance to mention everyone.

A couple of thank you's first…

AJ – I’m sure I’m not the only one thankful for all the fantastic graphics you’ve done for the Bloscars and for bloggers with banners. You’ve made the event that bit extra special so a big thank you from me.

Lyndz – When I asked you to write the reports you’ve been writing I didn’t expect you to take it on with such vigour. Anyone who has read your unbiased reports on bloggers must surely have a better insight into each blogger before they’d even got to their blog. Thank you Lyndz

And a thank you to both of you for listening to me cry when I had the emails to go through and whinge about people suddenly not voting but then suddenly voting in masses.

One last thank you… to you the viewer and the nominator. Yes I may have had this idea but it would be nothing without you lot taking the time to nominate and vote. You lot make this whole thing worthwhile. Some of you put comments in your emails like “you’re a star for doing all this” or “thanks for doing all the hard work”, well thanks for those comments but it’s you lot that deserve the thanks. In comparison my job is quite small, it’s you lot that did the hard work, so thank you.

Right… on with it…
